“Girl Rising” Teen Leadership Academy and Summer Camp is the newest and most unique program of In Her Shoes Foundation. “Girl Rising” is a mentor program and workshop based initiative that will enable young women to become critical consumers of “everyday” societal expectations and pressures. We hope to encourage these young women to become more self sufficient, achieve for higher goals, and ultimately believe that anything is possible. As an extension of In Her Shoes Foundations mission – to inspire, connect, educate, and support women of all ages and backgrounds - “Girl Rising” gives young women the structure and tools to control their lives rather than being passive receivers of a culture that is trying to impose social norms and expectations.
