Girl slips into coma after eating unwashed cherries SRINAGAR — An 18-year-old girls has slipped into coma after eating unwashed cherries with pesticides on them. She has been admitted in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura for treatment. Dr Showkat Ali, HoD Emergency Medicine said that they have admitted an 18-year-old girl who has consumed unwashed cherries. The girls has developed Organ Phosphorus poisoning. It was revealed that the pesticides were sprayed on cherries few days back, according to a press statement issued by SKIMS. Health experts at SKIMS have warned people of unwashed fruits and vegetables, which can have serious health implications. “We request people to take only washed fruits and vegetables and in appropriate quantities to stay safe and healthy.
