Give Me That Old Time Religion any day over this touchy feely type doctrine that is being perpetrated in so many pulpits across America in present day Christianity. The churches that are full of people that have never really heard the simple Plan of Salvation. They have been taught how to tithe and pray and be good members but, theyve never accepted Christ as their personal Savior. They hear the Joel Osteen brand of religion: Be a better person. Hes a great motivational speaker but a horrible preacher. He never talks about hell even though its mentioned more times in the New Testament than Heaven is. Churches are full of people that will split hell wide open one day simply because they have motivational speakers rather than Pastors that preach the ENTIRE word of God. Its all touch feely. Its all positive, no negative and its sending people to hell. Church members, choir members and so many others that feel great about themselves but are as lost as they can be. I liken many of the mega churches to the tower of babel described in Genesis 11. Theyre made up of so many different beliefs that no one knows what they believe, only what their preacher tells them to believe. We need Godly preachers in Americas pulpits like never before. The D.L. Moodys, the Savonarolas, the John Wesleys, the J. Frank Norris......preachers that preach the positive and the negative. The Glory of Heaven and the perils of a REAL HELL!!!! How to go to the one and how to stay out of the other. Most church members wont hear about both tomorrow. Most church members are content to be a member of some church with a motivational speaker. A touchy feely message that makes you want to just sing those new age songs that mention Jesus and His Glory, but have the same beat and rhythm as any worldly song you can listen to in so many other media outlets. Yep, give me that Old Time Religion anytime!
