“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1 Ten years ago today we received a letter of call to serve as the founding pastor of a church planting initiative in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The work began on May 1, 2005, and I am grateful for God’s provision, care, and faithfulness during these formative years of our church. We have experienced several seasons of fruitfulness, a few moments of pruning, and additional times of renewed growth. This past year I have been especially grateful for the support of my wife Heather (who began to lead a growing youth group), my four daughters (who arrive first at 7:00 am to set up and serve each week), and a team of others who perform a variety of key roles in our ministry. I also appreciate the response to two new outreach programs (sports ministry and a preschool story time) that we started recently. Looking ahead we want to continue sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and to construct the first phase of our main church campus. The schedule and scope of this project will depend on God’s provision of funds, and so we are inviting supporters to pray for us and to consider making a gift sometime during the 40 day period before Epiphany (January 6, 2015).
