Given the lively debate I had previously about how much it really helps if you turn off your geyser during the day, heres some real world results that might interest some people. When left on, my Kwikot (one year old) turns on about 8 times a day, for around 7 minutes at a time, in order to maintain 55 degrees. Thats just under 3 units a day, since it is a 3kw unit. Thats a maximum saving of R5.20 a day minus whatever extra it takes to get it back up to 55 when you do turn it back on tonight, which Im willing to bet is going to be at least two thirds of that :-)
