Given the recent the recent bout with North Korea, Im going to exercise my right to free speech and give an honest review of Luke Huxhams new film shot by Tommy, with motion graphics by Edward (Hopefully you guys can take the C&C as you know I value all of your work!): youtu.be/ORu58PY1S_g The overall quality of shots and picture style in Huxmans film is right up to par with the rest of his work. The in-car and exterior shots of the vehicles racing really captured the essence of speed. Color grading was on point as well. It flowed smoothly and kept my attention. With all that being said, I must say that the motion graphics were great, but VERY distracting. I didnt pay attention to any of the subtitles while the drivers were talking because I was too focused on what was popping up on the screen. I feel that maybe if the drivers were speaking in English, I wouldnt have felt obligated to divide my attention between the graphics, subtitles, AND shots. To me, the ending felt very abrupt. Because there werent any changes in the music or transitions (I.e., cutting to black), I wasnt sure when the film was wrapping up. It was only once I started seeing the sequence of slow-motion shots that I put two and two together. Again, great work to all and Id highly recommend watching this film.
