By 1985, I had moved to California where my roommate and good friend Debbee Silverman started a music trade paper called The Weekly Planet, which followed the formats: Hit Radio (Top 40), Urban Music (R&B/Soul), Album Rock, and Modern Music (Alternative & Progressive Pop). While the publication did not last very long, it was a lot of fun to produce and taught me invaluable lessons about record promotion, chart methodology, and music formats.
