Glamorgan tops Technocrats for volleyball title Glamorgan were crowned champions of the T&T Volleyball Federation Championship Division final after a four-set win over Technocrats at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Chaguanas on Saturday. In the championship match, Glamorgan won 25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 25-21. Earlier on in the third place playoff, BIG South East Port-of-Spain, came from behind to beat Southern United Volleyball Academy (SUVA) I, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20 19-25, 15-12. In the semifinal round, Glamorgan overcame a stubborn test from SUVA 25-18,25-14,11-25,25-12 at Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo on Wednesday last while Technocrats dumped last year’s winners SEPoS in a tough five-setter, 21-25, 25-22, 28-26, 34-32, 15-12. Glamorgan outlasted Starlings 26-28, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 15-10; SUVA I dumped SUVA II 25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 24-26, 15-11; Technocrats ousted Defence Force 25-16, 13-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-8 and SEPoS came away, 31-29, 25-22, 25-22, winners against West Side Stars in the last-eight. Last night, the women’s final came off with Glamorgan coming up against Technocrats at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Chaguanas while two hours earlier, SUVA I and West Side Stars battled for third spot. This after Glamorgan outplayed SUVA 25-19, 25-23, 11-25, 25-22 and Technocrats battled past West Side Stars 25-19, 27-25, 24-26, 21-25, 16-14 in their respective semifinals at the same venue on Monday night. In the quarterfinals, Glamorgan came from behind to beat University of T&T 22-25, 25-20, 25-12, 22-25, 17-15; Technocrats defeated SEPoS, 13-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18; SUVA I dumped Zenith while West Side Stars I beat West Side Stars II.
