Glen Canyon Dam and Bridge... Another night shot of the Glen - TopicsExpress

Glen Canyon Dam and Bridge... Another night shot of the Glen Canyon Bridge, but this time I also included the dam itself in frame.. Most of Glen Canyon is actually submerged beneath the waters of Lake Powell behind the dam, and only a short section remains, that runs from the dam and under the bridge just above the iconic Horseshoe Bend. The Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell itself were controversial projects for area locals near Page AZ and elsewhere, but provide hydro-electricity and regulation flow for the area. If you look closely at the top of the dam you can see workers vehicles, and a 4 side-by-side used by the security guard who was policing the dam and bridge (and unknowingly light painted the entire frame of the bridge from his perch with his powerful flashlight. He never looked up to see who the hooded photographer shooting images of the dam and bridge in the dark was however lol) The smoke billowing into the air behind the city of Page Arizona is the electrical plant (Navajo Generating Station as it is known) on the other side of town...
