Glendale Centre Theatre is casting Dear Ruth, a comedy by Norman Krasna. Produced by Tim Dietlein. Directed by George Strattan. Playing April 3rd, 2015 through May 9th, 2015 at the Glendale Centre Theatre. 324 North Orange St, Glendale, CA, 91203. Seeking the Following Roles: (the year is 1944) Dora – (35-50) Good-natured maid, Ethnic preferred. Mrs. Edith Wilkins – (40-45) Generous, sentimental, lovable, sophisticated, a “true mother” at heart. Miriam Wilkins – (15) Intelligent, adventurous, before-her-time “womans’ libber.” Judge Harry Wilkins – (45-50) Easy-going, municipal judge, good husband/ father, lovable. Ruth Wilkins – (22-25) Charming, intelligent, leading lady. Lt. William Seawright – (24-30) Air Corps lieutenant, lovable, impulsive, romantic. Albert Kummer – (32-36) A “go-getter,” jealous, “not-deserving” fiancé of Ruth. Martha Seawright – (20-22) Pretty, sweet. Sgt. Chuck Vincent – (35-55) Likeable, nice looking. Harold Klobbermeyer – (24-30) Lanky, shy sailor. Casting is open and encouraged to all ethnicities. Good comedic timing essential for all characters. Auditions will be held by appointment only on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 from 7-10pm at the Glendale Centre Theatre, 324 N. Orange St. Glendale, CA 91203. Sides will be provided.
