Global Alliance for Legal Aid The Global Alliance for Legal Aid (GALA) condemns the use of the judiciary as a tool of oppression and the current fusion of the police and judiciary. GALA also calls for the immediate release of Mr. Hazek and his companions arrested and wrongfully imprisoned in December and prosecuted under a now defunct law. The Egyptian régime reminds us of the French Reign of Terror -- perhaps those in power would be wise to read about the fate of Danton, Marat and Robespierre. But, then we would be unable to note that history simply repeats itself in an endless loop.
