Global Arctic Awards International Photo Competition To conquer the cold Arctic “heart” is a great challenge. But nothing is impossible for those truly in love with northern territories…. The aim of the competition is to tell people about the Arctic, because while living in megalopolises many of them do not even know, where the Arctic is located, and confuse it with the Antarctic. They have never seen polar bears, they do not understand how rich and full the fauna of this “small” region is. We make it our mission to unite all Arctic and North photographers of the world in order to show its beauty to people who have never seen it before… That is why we have involved all forces, got support of the National Geographic, WWF, UNO, UNESCO and many others. For the first time ever in Russia we have got accreditation of the three international Photo Associations: PSA, FIAP, UPI. We want our photographs to help people of the world to realize that somewhere very far away there exists some other, different life! As for photographers, they could get themselves a name, because being an Arctic photographer is not a work, it is a calling! Hardly anybody is able for hours to take pictures at the temperature -30C, while living in a raw-hide tent and moving on deer and dogs. It is not a fantasy, it is a reality! We have been supported by a great number of nonprofit and commercial organizations, we have been supported by the leading photographers of the world, we have been supported by the Arctic itself.
