Global Sanctuary for Elephants August 22 Tonight we sit with heavy hearts as Watoto, an elephant that deserved so much more out of life, has passed away. Watoto along with two other elephants at the Woodland Park Zoo have been the topic of controversy and the innocent victims. Our hearts ache for everyone that has been pushing for Watoto to be offered a better life, their efforts will feel like it was too little too late, but many eyes, hearts, and minds have been opened as a result of Watoto’s life and the efforts of the friends fighting for her. Our sympathies also go out to those that cared for Watoto daily, elephants open parts of your heart that you didn’t know exist, I know they are in tremendous pain right now.
