The Fair Housing Coalition Fighting For The Rights Of Los Angeles Housing Providers Two important dates where we need to be attend. #1 Landlord Meeting This Coming Saturday Date of meeting: 04/29/13 Location: 10449 Sarah Street Toluca Lake, CA 91602 Time: 10 AM #2 - LA City Council Meeting We need you to show up at the Los Angeles City Hall, down town LA, City Council Chambers, 3rd floor, at 10 AM, on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 On July 1, 2013, seven new members of the Los Angeles City Council will be sworn in. The next day will be their first time sitting in on a City Council session. We need to be there in force. As many of us as possible should fill out a speaker card and address the council to inform the new members who we are and what we are fighting for. Many of them have very little knowledge of how the LAHD violates the rights of local landlords. This Saturday, I will be updating everyone on our recent progress and we will form a collective plan of action because many of you have great ideas. We’ve learned much over the last three and a half years and now we can put it to better use. Eight members of the City Council already know us but the seven new members need to feel a sense of connection with us. Since landlords lost the rent control battle in 1979, most landlords never attended a city council meeting for over 30 years. That is why so many unfair laws have been created against us. Now we have more friends on the city council than ever before. We must take advantage of this opportunity and keep cultivating these relationships. We are on the verge of launching a huge movement.
