Go well Archbishop Emeritus James Mwewa Spaita. Another dark - TopicsExpress

Go well Archbishop Emeritus James Mwewa Spaita. Another dark cloud has covered Zambia claiming the Life of Archbishop Emeritus James Mwewa Spaita of Kasama Catholic Archdiocese in Northern Province, whilst the nation is in deep sorrow still mourning the painful death of our Beloved President, His Excellence Michael Chilufya Sata. My heartfelt condolences to the Catholic Church and the family for the shocking death of Archbishop Spaita who devotedly served the church with all his heart, soul and mind by spreading the word of the Lord to masses despite one’s creed. As district commissioner of Mufulira I will always treasure and remember Archbishop Spaita as I was his Bible student when I was doing my Primary and Secondary level of education in my early years of life in Kasama. Archbishop Spaita groomed me to become a responsible and God fearing Citizen when I served him at my tender age in the Catholic’s boys Christian organisation called the Altar Boys Club (ABC) commonly known as ‘Ba Kampenga ‘ at Chilubula mission in Kasama where the deceased taught me to respect every human being on earth because he used to tell me and others that every human being you meet is a Library of ideas so do not despise God’s creation. I learnt a lot from him because during our weekend meetings in the ABC he used to tell us that each and every person has a purpose and the duty to accomplish a mission on planet Earth before one’s time comes to an end and he always encouraged my friends and I to use our talents at the utmost level for life to be meaningful. Not only did I have the privilege of working with Archbishop in my Christian faith at Chilubula mission as a dedicated Catholic Altar boy I also served the great and selfless Archbishop at St John Cathedral in Kasama in the same capacity. I have lost my spiritual Father who natured and encouraged me as young boy to live according to the teachings of the Bible. Am a proud product of Archbishop Spaita who imparted Knowledge into me as a boy so that I can make a difference in society as a future leader whom I have become. Indeed it is a sad moment for the Catholic Church and the nation as a whole because Archbishop Spaita born on April 8, 1934 was a reservoir of Economic, Social and Biblical data and his death is a huge loss to all. Archbishop Spaita was Ordained as a Catholic Priest in 1962 and later appointed as a Bishop of Mansa Diocese in Luapula Province in 1974.. In 1990 he became the Archbishop of Kasama Archdiocese before retiring in 2009. Archbishop Spaita will be buried within the Grounds of St John Cathedral and May His soul Rest in Eternal Peace until we meet again on the other side. Let me take this opportunity to inform the people of Mufulira that tomorrow in the afternoon hundreds and Hundreds of people from all walks of life will converge at In-Vision Ministries Church where a memorial service for our departed President Sata will be held as the entire country and beyond continue mourning the brave President. Warm Regards Colleagues, GOD Be with you always and Work well. Issued By Chanda Kabwe Mufulira District Commissioner.
