God Blessed the Traveling Lock-In!!! With the snow cancellation in Nov. we got to reschedule the Lock in last night, but not with out the worry of a snow free night. First of all want to thank all those who prayed for safe travels for us as we left on our journey. God wanted us to go and provided us with the perfect breaks in the weather so as we traveled we were ahead of the storm than in the warm Mall of America during some snow and then on the way home with died down winds. The Traveling Lock in is all about youth who are apart of a youth group inviting friends along who do not have a church home to come and join us for a awesome night of relationships and great community. This year, just Hope Youth alone we had 36 youth that join us who filled out a registration card that marked they did not have a church home or youth group in Spencer join us. I know the other churches who came also had many guests as well. We stopped in Owotanna, Minn at Trinity Lutheran Church were my sister in law Andrea Van Gelder is on staff. Thanks for the Hospitality as we joined up with the other churches and Youth Pastors from Trinity Ref. Orange City Ben Vos, First Ref. Orange City Ross Enger, and Alton Reformed Chris Van Beek.We had a blast getting to know them and hanging out with them. We met some new friends and got to connect with some friends we had met from previous events and trips that we have partnered in. Then we went on to the Mall of America met up with Brian Sauter and his youth group from Winona Minn, and had a blast eating pizza together and riding the rides. We then loaded the buses for our trip back home. Want to thank Southwest bus company and Royal charters and others for safely driving us home. Thanks to the great staff from all the churches and especially my great team that helps me from Spencer Hope. They are great people who love you that give their time and serve so the youth in our communities can come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. I know Hope Youth had a awesome night.
