God I praise you for healing! The account of the ten lepers in the book of Luke can be a reminder of giving our thanksgiving to our Lord for what He has done. Luke 17:15 -16 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God w/ a loud voice;and he fell on his face at Jesus feet, giving him Thanks... I am so thankful for having medical care so readily available. I often take for granted the luxuries I have in this country on many levels. My daughter Josalynn started getting sick Saturday evening and her symptoms continued to escalate through Sunday afternoon and evening. I spent over 2 1/2 hours waiting to be seen at urgent care yesterday afternoon and early evening. I could have easily had a bad attitude and been frustrated w/ the waiting and yet I felt more at ease than I typically would have been. I definitely believe that was God giving me His strength and filling me w/ His patience. It was scary to return home from urgent care and within 15 mins see my daughter throwing up blood. I knew then there was clearly something more going on than what I was told at Urgent Care. I took her to the hospital and am truly thankful for all the ways God blessed us in this situation. I am thankful for a neighbor immediately coming to help care for my other daughter Janell so that my Mom could come to the hospital w/ us. I am thankful that even w/ a very busy ER we did not have to wait too long before being seen and cared for. I Praise God for the kindness and gentleness that the doctor and nurses showed to my daughter. I am thankful for how quickly the doctor was able to diagnosis that Josalynn was very dehydrated and had a severe case of strep. I am thankful that we have such easy access to medications to bring quick relief and healing to our bodies. I Praise God for the many people that responded to my request for prayers and let me know they were praying. I am thankful my daughter was able to sleep in the comfort of her bed. I praise God how Josalynn showed quick improvement after receiving the care she needed. I am thankful for precious moments of hearing the love and compassion Josalynn has for her sister while sitting in a hospital bed. Josalynn was such an example of looking beyond our ourselves and circumstances and looking at how to love others. Additionally, it was a unexpected blessing how the last nurse that came to care for Josalynn happened to be someone that attends the same church and discovering that we would be singing together this coming Sunday on our praise team. After telling a dear friend of mine about this, I thought her response was a neat perspective - Funny and completely awesome! Its like a kiss from the Lord showing us that He loves us and is walking with us every step of the way. So cool!! God I give you Thanksgiving for all these things and more! Thank you for your presence and for the outpouring of grace in my life! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in ALL circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
