God bless this troubled human being for her service to her country and the courage to follow her beliefs. Contrary to what she says, however, she is no longer capable of doing the job she was trained for. Why? For one thing, the change in her hormones means she no longer has the strength and endurance required to be a Navy Seal. For another, she requires daily medication to maintain the femininity she has achieved. Finally, civilians may not know this but the military discharges all personnel who are diagnosed with a personality disorder. Many civilians maintain jobs and marriages with personality disorders (you can read more about them here: psi.uba.ar/academica/carrerasdegrado/psicologia/sitios_catedras/practicas_profesionales/820_clinica_tr_personalidad_psicosis/material/dsm.pdf. You might recognized people you know!) but the military requires such a close level of teamwork that a single person with a personality disorder can affect mission readiness. No one has a right to serve in the military, where the mission is so important that people actually give up many of their constitutional rights in order to serve.
