God gave me a hopeful glimpse into the heart of Millennium today. Those who are closest to us know that we struggle on a regular basis with choices he makes. On the way home from the California Science Center today, we saw an elderly homeless woman begging on the side of the onramp to the freeway. I gave her one of the homeless kits we made at church yesterday. She lit up with appreciation and said, Oh wow! Thank you and God bless you! Then a couple of minutes later (while on the 110 freeway) the kids start saying, Mom! Millennium is crying! I looked in my rear-view mirror and there he was in a puddle of tears. I asked him what was wrong. He could barely speak, but got out that he was happy and sad. He was sad that the woman was homeless, but happy that we could help her a little. I thanked God for giving me a glimpse into Millennium to see that he does have compassion and cares about others. As his mama, I needed that glimpse today. #hopeful #thanksGod
