God has been speaking. But when you ignore that still, small voice long enough, and are distracted by the constant motion of life, the world, ministry and yes, even prophets, your ability to hear or even recognize His voice begins to be diminished. We begin to conform to a cultural norm, a church norm, a life norm, that for the follower of the Lamb of God, is not normal at all! We assess by consensus, decide by what feels right, and become heavily reliant upon the constant affirmation of those around us. By conforming to the many voices, we lose the sense of the sweetness of the Sound of His Voice, not only speaking to us, but through us. Listen again. Not for direction. Not for a blessing. Not for destiny. Listen again, because without Him, we can do nothing. Like Christ, we are His servants, and when we learn to hear His Voice, we will not follow another.
