God has proven himself over and over to those who love him. His word gives you a firm foundation upon which to build your life in a world that is filled with nothing but vanity and a chasing after the wind. God alone gives us what we need for the promises of eternity. All else falls short. All I can say is from experience I have learned that even in my deepest sorrow, God held me close and gave me strength to press on. At other times in my life when I faced doors slammed shut in my face that I thought I would have the privilege to walk through, I learned that God was there, pointing me in another direction, even as he was the one who closed the door. I never sensed that He was not there. You will face slammed doors. You will face loss. You will face times of discouragement and times when you are sure nobody knows your name. God not only knows your name, but in Revelation he promises each of us who overcome the temptations of this world, that he will give us a new name, that will be a secret just between the God and you; a name of endearment, a special name that marks you as his very own unique creation. He has already proven himself time and time again. Why not trust God for the rest of your journey towards your eternal home?
