God is God and were not! This past Sunday when Roger Audorff was preaching, he used this particular phrase over and over until it actually started to sink into my little brain in a way that it became something very deep to ponder. God is God and were not! Those words are very compelling on several different levels. On the most obvious level it tells us that we are never going to be able to accomplish what God can accomplish. It certainly is amazing though how often we forget this simple truth and begin to function in life like We can do all things through us who strengthens us! The bible actually says We can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens us! If we can really get our brains wrapped around that big piece of truth that God is God and were not, we can begin to accomplish some really great things in the kingdom of God because well be looking for Him to guide us instead of us guiding us. I think that the Lord is going to use Calvary Temple in some very powerful ways in this new year of 2015, especially in the area of missions giving, but only if we have things in the proper perspective. Some of the challenges might seem quite daunting at first and if we try to tackle them in and of ourselves they will surely remain daunting. But, when we truly adopt the philosophy that God is God, we are going to do some amazing things for Him. Let that challenge your heart as we begin this new year. Let you prayer be, Lord, help me not to depend on myself but let me always look to You to guide and direct my life. As I face the challenges that will come my way, help me to fully accept the truth that All things are possible to him that believes. Blessings, Pastor Doug
