God is Spirit. He has a spirit voice. We are spirit with a flesh suit outer wear. We use our spirit voice when we offer up silent prayers. When God speaks to us it is not with a flesh suit voice but with His spirit voice. He speaks to us in the way our silent prayers sound. Evil spirits and demons also have a spirit voice but they cannot read our thoughts as God can. When you hear Gods voice, He will lead you to do His will. When you hear the enemys voice, he will lead you outside of Gods will (probably towards your own will or want). God does bring conviction when you are outside His will. The devil brings condemnation. If you are feeling a loss of peace, anxiety, or depression, you are likely unknowingly hearing an enemy voice. As you learn to test the spirits, you will learn to immediately know the enemys voice and his attempts to separate you from God. Test the Spirits 1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. (1 John 4:1-3) The question that you must ask aloud (because evil spirits cannot read your mind) is Did Jesus Christ come in the flesh? When you listen to the spirit voice answer that you hear, an affirmative (YES) answer is from God, but a negative (NO) answer or something evasive is from the enemy. As a child of God you know that the answer is Yes so you must listen for the spirit voice answer that you hear. If you hear an answer that identifies an enemy presence, do not be alarmed. Ask God to bind the enemy in every way around you. And then have conversation with God about why the enemy is trying to get you off the path that God has for you.
