God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:11 God is not - TopicsExpress

God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:11 God is not angry merely against the sin abstracted from the sinner, but against the sinner himself. The sin has no moral character apart from the sinner. The act is nothing apart from the actor. The very thing that God hates and disapproves is not the mere event - the thing done in distinction from the doer; but it is the doer himself. The sinner himself is the direct and the only object of His anger. God is angry with the wicked - not with the abstract sin. If the wicked turn not, God will whet his sword; - he hath bent his bow and made it ready; - not to shoot the sin however, but the sinner - the wicked man who has done the abominable thing. - Charles Finney (excerpt). 1 Peter 3:12-The face of the Lord is against them that do evil John 3:36-He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life but THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDETH ON HIM. If this is not true there is no reason for the sinner to fear God and warn them to flee the wrath to come (Matthew 3:7). Romans 1:18-For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. All these verses are New Testament and are clearly speaking of Gods wrath. Those who are always attempting to undermine this aspect of Gods character reveal they do not understand the character of God, do not understand what the average sinner thinks about God, about himself, about eternity and reveal they have not been attempting to convert sinners by calling them to repent and forsake their sins. The ironic thing is many times these same people will decry the lack of the fear of God in the churches and society while they are constantly attempting to water down the very reason to fear God. Guess who said this: Matthew 10:28-Fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ~ Micah Armstrong
