God is great and so I will always praise HIM!!!! What a great pleasure and opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills from my African brothers- Rwanda- which has enhanced my ability to contribute to health system strengthening in Liberia. Rwanda is developing rapidly and so I would expect Liberia to emulate them. Rwandans are patriotic and take responsibility for their actions. The level of collaboration and coordination are seen from the village level upward to national. They are fully decentralized, although with some challenges. I feel proud of them!!!!! It is ONLY Africans who are capable of developing Africa, even though we will need external support. The Ubudehe (community involvement and problem-solving approach) system, a strategic approach used by Rwandans to foster community participation has given them the sense to contribute to health and has reduced donor dependency syndromes. I would like to appreciate the government of Liberia through Ministry of Health Performance-based Financing unit and the department of Health Services for giving me the chance to share and gain new knowledge on the paradigm of health services in low income countries.I had a wonderful time with the PBF team, including the team leader and the Technical Assistant. My special thanks to the Rwandan health team. I would also like to say thanks to my Aussie-Rwandese friends Bre Muts & Ted, Francis Nkurunziza ,his lovely wife and kids Crissy UM and my newly found friends.... What a fantastic time listening to live old skool and East African traditional mixed songs.... Danced to the beat..... One life to live....
