God is not dead is a phrase I have been seeing a lot this week. Why? No idea, just keeps popping up on my feed. However, I beg to differ. The God is dead philosophy is widely misunderstood. The death is not of God as a being. Its not the rejection of God... Its the rejection of absolute values as they are. I believe that the God humans painted before with concepts of excommunication, calling out heretics, and painting God as a punishing God are dead. The God we thought we knew in history is, I believe, dead, because today we face God as the definition of Love. I think, if a person doesnt believe in God, but believes in Love, from a Christian perspective, it should be sufficient. Who are we to print our judgements on others when we ourselves are being judged? Its like killing someone and telling people youre against murder. What good will joining the ego game do for any of us? Youll just be going around in circles. Love is the truth, I believe. It is free enough to accept everything and everyone as they are present in the world. I am not saying that crime is acceptable under Love, because Love looks for ways to make things right for everyone, even for the murderer. The concept of mercy is so difficult to swallow, I know; but this is the journey of our lives, to learn how to love so fully that our human form of mercy transcends beyond revenge. Love is simple and doesnt set conditions for as long as it is allowed to exist. Of course, there are more dimensions to this thought, but thats what philosophy is for, to kickstart discussion and to shape a persons values in life. The moment you shut your world to other views simply because you find a sticky form of comfort to one perspective, you should take it as a red flag. Theres the key word: STICKY. Jealousy, pride, wrath, greed, etc... theyre all sticky values. Be careful. If your mind is not moving and trying to understand things, you are at a more vulnerable position to become a workshop for judgement. The best place is at the place of the Observer where judgement and sentiment have no seat. Our judgement and our sentiment over function only because they want to survive. When you let the observer in, to see your faults and triumphs as they are without adding or removing anything, you are safe. Judgment and sentiment are branches of the ego and each one tends to balloon your faults, triumphs, and your perspective. Do not allow it to happen. The ego is a trap. At the seat of the Observer is where Love can safely develop its voice. Dont fall into the egos trap. But then, this is just whats on my mind and whats on yours may strongly oppose mine. I respect that. Someone might benefit from this and another might just get pissed off, but to each his own. I just wanted to share my thoughts because it could get someone thinking. Thinking of Love this way has greatly benefited me. This is why Ive slowed down when answering people. My ego still has a voice. I need time to sift through my thoughts so that when I speak, I speak from the seat of the Observer. Growth, after all, doesnt happen smoothly and overnight. Hope this gives someone something to think about! Happy weekend :)
