God kept us safe tonight. Fiona barked for about an hour and none of the other dogs did. She was alone in my room w/all the windows open. Zach came home and told me to come outside to see that a power line was sparking and catching a tree on fire. We went out to look and call 911. We met an off duty Sheriff/Neighbor who arrived just after Zach. While we waited for the Fire department all three of us walked around and marveled at its destructive beauty. It looked like a million fireflies were dancing in the tree. The fire truck and Neighbor arrived and they asked if I told our other Neighbor. I said Zach and I were going to, but the driveway was really dark and we were going to go get a flashlight. Just then a Fireman noticed that not only was there a wire in the tree but also one on the ground across the Neighbors dark driveway and within two to five feet from where all three of us were looking and walking near the tree. They think Fiona’s dog senses, caused her to hear the arcing and sparking on the line. The road is now closed and we are waiting for PUD. We are very blessed.
