God may be high and exalted, but he is not afraid to get his hands - TopicsExpress

God may be high and exalted, but he is not afraid to get his hands dirty. The Lord may be eternal, but he cares very much about whats happening to you today. When we are humbled, he promises to lift us up. When we are crushed, he promises to carefully hold us and heal us. When we are frightened beyond belief, he assures us he will give us the courage to trust him for the right ending. With such a gracious God, repentance and confession stops being unthinkable and starts being natural and habitual: The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts (Isaiah 57:15, NLT). Our reading for Friday, October 3, is Isaiah 57:1 - 58:14, Psalm 114:1-8, Proverbs 26:22 and Ephesians 5:1-20.
