God never ceases to amaze me at His endless pursuit of wandering souls. Today I met with a 21 year old named, Jose. His mother had him at 16 and never told him she loved him because he looked like his father, who abandoned her after getting her pregnant. She kicked him out of her house when he was 14 and he never saw her again. He spent the next seven years on the streets running guns and dealing dope. Over the years he has been beat up, shot, and run over by a car and two weeks ago he told God he was tired of living and injected 15 bags of dope into his body and overdosed. After waking up in a mental ward he was given the opportunity to come to the Salvation Army Rehab Center. He said that during worship last night he was filled with a warmth and a peace like he has never known and he now knows God brought him here and believes that he may have a chance at a new life. He still looks like a child and has experienced more pain and rejection than many of us will experience in our lifetimes. If you were blessed to have a mom or dad who told you they loved you or perhaps you did not, but have been fortunate enough to experience the love and grace of a God who relentlessly pursued you when you werent even looking for Him, make sure and praise Him today. He is so incredibly worthy!
