God placed forgiveness on my heart today! Its so good. This status is far longer than most statuses I have written, but I believe it will speak life into many situations that people so often face in the world. It is long because I decided I wanted to explain something in full rather than halfway. Seriously though, when you press continue reading youre going to say, what the heck.. But, I think this is good stuff! Please dont decide not to read it just because its long! If you want to learn about the difference between the deception of satanic forgiveness, and the truth of Godly forgiveness, keep reading! Slight warning: This is one of those concepts that may challenge you to think about your doctrinal understanding a bit more than the typical teachings from scripture. You may actually get mad while reading this. Try not to though, as understanding of possible spiritual truth is easily blocked by anger. Do not immediately dismiss anything you read, but ask The Lord to open up your mind and heart to certain words that may be different than what you are used to. Also ask Him to guard your heart to what may not be true of His nature. My desire isnt to cause confusion, but to promote spiritual thought, and create deeper understanding of the mysteries of God which is revealed through Christ. Make your faith in Christ your own, not anyone elses. I want their hearts to be encouraged and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery — Christ. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. (Colossians 2:2, 3 HCSB) Genuine forgiveness is posted up as wanted all over the walls of hell. Its one of satans worst enemies. Satan cannot stand against the reality of love that true forgiveness requires. It destroys His tactics. It takes away His power. When you choose to forgive, you set aside judgement for wrath, punishment, payment, vengeance, and all things that will be used by satan to hold both the wrongdoer and the victim under bondage. When you choose to forgive in a Godly way, you bring forth Heavenly values that confuse common satanic nature, which desires payment for wrongdoing. Next time someone does something clearly horrible to you, dont just forgive them without any requirement of payment, but take it even further and bless them as well. This is not an easy thing to do, and that is evidence of its power. Jesus lived and taught this life. His teaching was honestly much crazier than most people care to recognize. He taught not only to forgive ones enemies, but to love them, and pray blessings over them? Uh, Jesus.. What about payback? They need to know what they did wrong; they need to at least experience some sort of guilt, or shame, right? That would only be fair. Justice is important! Eye for an eye! Jesus would respond: What form of justice do you believe in? My justice is to make things right as they would be right in Heaven. My justice is to destroy the tactics of satan which create bondage. My justice is complete FORGIVENESS! The wrongdoer should repent; set their eyes OFF and AWAY from sin, and place them upon me so that they can see how God created them to be. They should turn from sin and place their identity in me rather than in the world which leads to wrongdoing. They do not need any form of guilt in order for you to forgive, because that is payment rather than freely given forgiveness! Why do you desire guilt? Do you desire satans ways or mine? Cant you see? What do you believe repentance is to me? You desire for your wrongdoer to experience sorryness in guilt and shame from their wrongdoing. Dont you see that this is NOT the repentance I desire! Your repentance desires the wrongdoer to set his eyes upon his guilt and shame in his sin! Why cant you see that I do not desire for my sheep to come to me through fear of hell and eternal death? I desire that my sheep come to me through recognition of my love and desire for abundant life! Your repentance is setting the eyes on fear of eternal suffering in hell, my repentance is setting the eyes on the son, in order that true identity will be recognized in love! If someone hurts you, let them do it, then forgive them! Remember what I am saying; If someone steals your shirt, give them your coat too as a gift, and then pray blessings over them! If they hit your cheek, turn and let them hit the other. Love your enemies, and find reconciliation! I desire mercy, not sacrifice! I desire forgiveness, not punishment! What the heck Jesus, what are you trying to do? Get me killed? Jesus would respond: No, my child. I am here to reveal the Father; to bring Heaven to earth; to bring life and bring it abundantly; to seek and save the lost; to bring freedom and defeat the evil tactics of the enemy; I am here to create believers through the greatest way possible: Clear, obvious, magnificent, Heavenly love. Jesus loved people and blessed all who had need, then was crucified and betrayed by them. They clearly deserve death, because they committed the seemingly worst act possible: Killing the only perfect human being; murdering God. But wait, on the cross Jesus prayed a blessing of forgiveness over all of the people who murdered Him without cause?! Then went to hell to pay the price for their consequence? This cant be justice! JESUS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING. STOP LOVING PEOPLE SO WELL. ITS MAKING ME FEEL LIKE I ACTUALLY HAVE TO LIVE MY LIFE LIKE YOURS OR SOMETHING. (Matthew 5 displays how Jesus sees forgiveness quite well) Example time: What if someone stole from you, and then you pressed charges. They then went to jail for 10 years on a felony charge. They would learn their lesson in a sense, right? They would go to jail, and what would their process of learning be? Something along the lines of, Im afraid of getting punished again. I probably shouldnt do this again. Jail is not fun. The food is bad. My toilet is out in the open.. I didnt get to see my children for 10 years, and they are probably living on the streets now because I wasnt there to provide for them after their Mom died from a drug overdose last year. I hope someone took care of them. What if they are living on the streets? What if the CPA doesnt let me see them? I need to stop stealing, but I dont feel like I have any other way to provide. No one will hire me now that I have this felony charge. Man.. Im a failure as a human and a father. I hope my children will forgive me. I dont deserve to have kids, or be a father. Why am I here? Im a horrible person.. God, if you exist; if you are out there, please protect my children. I deserve to die. I deserve hell. I dont deserve to live after all that I have done. God, I want to believe you are real. But, I just dont know how. My life is horrible, and I have never seen what your love looks like. It cant be real. There is no way you could love me. I stole from one of your Christians, and they didnt want to forgive me at all. How could you want good things for me if they just wanted me to suffer consequences? It doesnt make sense.. This persons mind was filled with fear, guilt, shame, pain, consequence, depression, possibly suicidal tendencies. Who knows? But at least they learned their lesson in a way, right?... Right? Well, maybe. But lets look at what this justice actually did. Simply put, your justification just ruined that mans life. Your justice just made that man believe He had no reason to live. Rather than setting His eyes and identity on Christ, you set His eyes and identity on: Im a failure and I have no reason to be on Earth. You can debate this, but I dont believe God desires an unsaved person to feel this before He (possibly) finds Jesus. The only chance that He will truly set His eyes on Jesus after that is if he gets lucky and some guy in jail tells Him about Jesus; your actions directly did nothing good for him. Even if He did end up being saved through your version of justice, he was saved by setting eyes on a completely incorrect version of Jesus. Which means, he is going to end up treating other wrongdoers just like you treated him, because thats all he knows. This version of justice created no true change of heart, values, or morals. It just created fear that he would have to go through that horrific situation again if he did something wrong. I guarantee you he would not come back to you and say, there is something different about you. Why were you so forgiving? You did not reveal Jesus to him. On the contrary, you just revealed hell to him. You revealed fear to him. Fear is opposed to Gods nature, contrary to some interesting popular belief. Just a quick look at some scripture that doesnt appear to have a huge effect on all Jesus followers. Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and His love is perfected in us. This is how we know that we remain in Him and He in us: He has given assurance to us from His Spirit. And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent His Son as the world’s Savior. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God — God remains in him and he in God. And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this, love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, for we are as He is in this world. There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears has not reached perfection in love. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:7-19 HCSB) So, what I see here is a couple of things: God is love. Love drives out fear. So love opposes fear. Which means, God opposes fear, and resembles/produces love. Fear implies punishment, so there is no love in punishment.. Love opposes any form of fear, punishment, fear of punishment, fear of hell, fear of anything. God opposes fear; God MUST oppose punishment, then? Fear must then be of satan. Satan must be bad, and God must be good. I looked at this from an objective point of view, and even tried to argue it from a very punishment oriented doctrinal point of view, and I still felt very goofy. The scripture is quite a bit concrete here. With that said, lets now look at what Jesus more likely would do in the same situation. What if someone stole your credit card from you, then you found out. They used all ten thousand dollars you had on your card. The cops find the person, and ask you if you have a lawyer, because clearly you should press charges. Rather than pressing charges, which is what would make sense, you pay to bail the guy out, and then when he walks out of the jail, you ask to take him out to dinner and buy him his favorite meal. Does this sound weird? Yes, it does sound weird. A bit crazy even. Well, Jesus is crazy I guess, huh? This form of forgiveness makes no sense to worldly logic. But to God, it is the norm. It is the ONLY way. What would the person who stole from you think if you did this? I promise you, their mind would be racing. They would not know what the heck was going on, or what was wrong with you. Their perception of the world would be wrecked. They might even experience anger towards you for being so stupidly compassionate to them. This is what happens to the human mind when it is revealed to Godly Love. It gets re-wired. Wrongdoing on the earth is never justified by completely free forgiveness and a blessing. It just makes no sense logically. Well, this is how Gods Love works. It is so offensive to us that it even provokes offense, and some sort of anger! THIS is what it means to reveal Jesus to someone. If that person didnt admit there was a some sort of loving God as soon as you blessed them in that way, they would admit it soon after. Heavenly love like this cannot be ignored. The chances of them being revealed to Jesus are very, very likely. Even better, it would be the Jesus of the gospel, not some other version of Jesus that was passed down from through wrongful representation. Every time a wrongful act is committed, satan desires that we believe there must be a price to pay rather than forgiveness, which requires no payment. Jesus desires complete forgiveness without payment. Forgiveness is a weapon that God uses and desires that we use to bring them Kingdom of Heaven down to Earth. Satans justice is absolute payment; void of forgiveness. Gods justice is absolute forgiveness; void of payment. They oppose one another. God shares no likelihood with satan, and satan shares no likelihood with God. Gods word is truth, satans word is deception. Gods word is life, satans word is death. Gods word is good, satans word is evil. The meaning of true forgiveness is completely misunderstood by the majority of us. Im still trying to get it right! What Jesus words say to me is that if you desire ANYTHING from the one who wronged you, this is not forgiveness. If you even believe it is rightful for them to say sorry before or after you forgive them, this is not forgiveness; it would still be payment in your mind. Gods form of forgiveness is not pay me back, then Ill forgive your wrongs. That is satanic forgiveness. Gods forgiveness is, Ill initiate forgiveness before they even realize they have acted wrongfully. While they are still completely dead to sin, and lacking any desire to ask forgiveness, I will take the consequences of sin upon myself, because I desire forgiveness in love, not punishment in anger. The Pharisees, who avoided sinners because the sinners never repented or made sacrifices for their wrongdoing would often point out that Jesus would spend time with these sinners. Pharisees (the people who followed the law and scripture perfectly) and people of the like didnt understand how He could rightfully be in the presence of those sinners; as they believed a perfectly righteous person, who was free of sin, could not be in the presence of those who had never repented or paid for their sins. Jesus responded to this: But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy (mercy pleases me), not sacrifice. (Matthew 9:13; Hosea 6:6; 1 Samuel 15:22) Very interesting that Jesus would point out (and quote Hosea 6:6, and possibly the idea from 1 Sam 15:22) that He, the perfect representation of the Father in human form, does not desire any form of sacrifice (thysian-blood sacrifice; punishment/payment) for wrongdoing, but rather desires mercy (eleos-mercy/compassion/forgiveness). He responded to the Pharisees recognition of necessary sacrifice with words that oppose the idea that He desires sacrifice in order to be in relationship with someone, but rather desires mercy and compassion to people. Freely you have received; freely you should give. (Matthew 10:8) Clearly, Jesus is saying that the blessings from Heaven were given to us without a price, and that we should give blessings to others without any expectations or price. Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elemental forces of the world, and not based on Christ. For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority. You were also circumcised in Him with a circumcision not done with hands, by putting off the body of flesh, in the circumcision of the Messiah. Having been buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him and forgave us all our trespasses. He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.(Colossians 2:8-14 HCSB) This scripture states that Jesus forgave us while we still had no idea that we needed forgiving. Free of charge. After reading this, I suggest thoroughly asking God what form of forgiveness you believe in; Satanic forgiveness, or Godly forgiveness. One produces love, peace, and life; the other produces fear, hatred, pain, suffering, condemnation, guilt, shame. This post may have confused you about certain things, and I recognize this. The point of this post is just to point out a clear representation of the way that Jesus forgives. I am attempting to create a deeper understanding of Gods nature through the study of the gospel of Jesus. His actions and His words are the only perfect representation of the Fathers nature, because no one has known the Father perfectly but Jesus. If you have any questions about any if this and how it aligns with other scripture. I suggest you first set your eyes on Jesus recognizing Him as the only perfect representation of the Father. By that I mean, one would/should rather look at the life and teachings of Jesus and make that the basis of his or her doctrinal understanding- THEN, learn how to understand Gods character on a deeper level from that standpoint; rather than what most Christians choose to do, which is: look at worldly surroundings, experiences, traditions, teachings, and make the basis of their doctrinal understanding upon these things -THEN, they would look at the life of jesus and decide what appears realistic based on what they already believe. This would be the difference between a Jesus following Christian; disciple, and a Christian that would choose to go with the flow of the world. After doing this, pray and ask God to attest to what I wrote. God can and will reveal the truth to you through the Holy Spirit far greater and clearer than anything or anyone on this Earth. Spiritual truth comes only through spiritual revelation.
