God used dust to form the first man. (Genesis 2:7) † Please Stay Here † Elijah said to him, Elisha, please stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Jericho. But he said, As the LORD lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you. So they came to Jericho. 2 Kings 2:4 ESV Elisha had served Elijah for several years when he was asked to wait here. Three times in a row Elijah had asked him to stay here, but Elisha would not stay there. Elisha would not take no for an answer, and he inherited a double portion anointing. There were many other Prophets, there were fifty at Jericho alone. These all stayed behind and missed that anointing. There was a time in my life, where after serving for years and feeling that God was now calling us to move on, we were told to wait by the ones over us. They meant well, but we received the usual one on one sermons about faithfulness, dedication and rewards. This is a very difficult decision, and you have to be prayerfully careful, but sometimes when God calls you to do something, He just tells YOU. Keep yourself humble during this time as pride will blind you. Sometimes to follow God, you cannot take “Please Stay Here” for an answer.
