God wants community... Satan wants isolation The devil is not stupid( but some of his emissaries are) because he knows that if he can keep you out of church that he owns you and can keep you out of heaven. He knows the Scriptures well. For instance, he knows that 1 Cor 12 describes THE CHURCH AS BEING A BODY and that a body NEEDS ALL ITS PARTS TO FUNCTION at it best. So, if he can convince you that the church is not important and that you should not go, then he gets you right where he wants you and at the same time weakens the church because you are not there to help function better because you have believed his lie.
