Facebook link to this show: facebook/events/315780918612229 Abstract / Objectives of this Discussion: What kind of marriage goes day in and day out, week in and week out, month in and month out and year in and year out without any goals? When it comes to the importance of setting goals for our Muslim and Christian marriages, there are essentially three kinds of couples: those who let things just happen in the marriage, those who make things happen in the marriage and then there are those who wonder what happened in and to their marriages. Marriages need real leadership if we want them to be successful. Marriages should have vision for where they want to go, and what they want to happen over the years. If we dont have a plan to succeed we mighty just be actively involved in a plan to fail. Setting Marriage Goals will give couples something to shoot for in 2015. This particular show is for couples who are looking to motivate themselves. We are going to assist you in not only identifying what your goals are but also writing your marriage goals down. Goals should be written down and should be placed in a spot where they are clearly visible. After getting their goals set, the couples will plan short, medium, and long-term goals for 2015. Are your spouses goals similar in nature to your goals? Does your spouse have any goals at all? Where can you and your spouse merge some of your dreams together and create even better things for your future with one another in 2015? If you would like to learn these free Advanced Relationship Skills that are being shared my Brother Marcus and Sister Cecelia to help you to be a better Husband / Wife as we go into 2015 then please join us for this very fascinating dialogue! Homework: Creating a vision board is probably one of the most valuable visualization tools available to us. This powerful tool serves as our image of the future - a tangible representation of where we are going in our life and in our marriage. It represents our dreams, our goals, and our ideal life - together. Because our minds responds strongly to visual stimulation - by representing our goals with pictures and images - we will actually strengthen and stimulate our emotions... and our emotions are the vibrational energy that activates the Law of Attraction. The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words,” certainly holds true here. If you have already defined your dreams, it’s time to illustrate them visually. A vision board is a powerful visualization tool that you can use as inspiration for your journey toward your ideal life and marriage. It is a collage of pictures, phrases, words or items that represent you and your goals. Some people refer to it as a “dream board” or an “inspiration board.” Vision boards are for inspiration; think of it as a vision of the future if you will. These goals can be either short-term or long-term. How to create a vision board that depicts the future you wish to create. Find pictures that represent or symbolize the experiences, feelings, and possessions that you and your spouse want to attract into your lives, and place them on your board. Have fun with the process! Use photographs, magazine cutouts, pictures from the Internet -- whatever inspires you. Be creative. Include not only pictures, but anything that speaks to you. Consider including a picture of yourselves on your board. If you do, choose one that was taken in a happy moment. You will also want to post your affirmations, inspirational words, quotations, and thoughts here. Choose words and images that inspire you and make you both feel good. You and your spouse will be making your perhaps your first vision board. There are a few things you will need to purchase if you dont already have them. 1) A Tri Fold Board 2) Old Magazines that contain pictures / photos of the goals and life that the couple desires 3) Paste / Tape You both will need to sit down and have a huge brainstorming session around the goals that you both have for 2015 individually and collectively for the following things: 1) Spiritual Goals 2) Good lives / Family Goals 3) Places to visit Goals 4) Fitness Goals 5) Career Goals 6) Money / Luxury Goals You can use your vision board to depict goals and dreams in all areas of your life, but in this case we are focusing on our marriages. Please keep your vision board neat, and be selective about what you place on your vision board. Its a good idea to avoid creating a cluttered or chaotic board… we dont want to attract chaos into our lives and marriages. Use only the words and images that best represent our purpose, our ideal future, and words that inspire positive emotions in us. There is beauty in simplicity and clarity. Too many images and too much information will be distracting and harder to focus on. Once you have brainstormed about each item then open up your magazine and find the pictures / photos that represent the goals that you desire. Paste or tape them into your Tri Fold. Have fun doing this! You can certainly do this as a single man or woman as well! Brother Kosala and Sister Sadiyah are going to aid us greatly in how to use our Vision Board to help us to be successful in our marriages and relationships in 2015!
