Godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). Take a deep breath and really let that verse marinate within you for a moment. If we are to be set apart from and look different from the world, wouldnt contentment be a great place to start? Instead of straining continuously for that financial line of comfort that is unattainable, what if we just rested in godliness? What would that even look like? Whats holding you back from fully trusting God today? He cares so deeply for you and understands better than anyone what you need, when you need it. I challenge you to place your burdens on Jesus. He can handle it and he wants to lift the pressure from your shoulders. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). With your attitude of obedience and total surrender to Gods will comes godliness. When you choose to walk in godliness, contentment becomes a natural place to hang out.
