Gods Daily Touch It is Wise to Forgive Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. This morning God wants us to deal with an anemy on the inside of us; the spirit of unforgiveness. Jesus tells us that forgiving a person seven times is not enough. In actual fact, it is wisdom to forgive a person who offends you. In our homes today, mothers have issues with sons or daughters, sons have bitterness against fathers, wives and mothers-in-law have issues unsettled; yet we all pray, forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us. In other words, we tell God that our sins are not too difficult to be forgiven but for our neighbours sin, it is impossible to let go. Whoever hasnt sinned before should cast the first stone. If people were to curse us and hold us responsible for all our actions, we would be dead a thousand times by now. So let go of that brother or sister because you receiving forgiveness from God is dependent on it. Unforgiveness grows spontaneously. It grows into pain, anger and bitterness. You then begin to wish for something bad to happen to that person. Revenge begins to boil up under your sleeves. Wishing for evil to happen to a person actually means you are cursing the person. It is unwise for a son or daughter to curse a father or mother. It is like throwing a stone to the air, it shall return to you. Curses run down generations so you will surely be next in line to inherit your own curse. Anytime unforgiveness is not dealt with, a chain of revenge series is initiated. This is because as a person suffers, other innocent people suffer along; people who will be willing to seek revenge for what they may be going through. I want to encourage you this morning; forgive anyone in your life who has hurt you before; it is history. Glorious moments are ahead of you. The God of Justice knows exactly how to handle that for you. Most of the time those we are embittered about go about the day freely as we carry the poisonous burden of unforgiveness. Call that person now and tell him he is forgiven;for it is only wise to forgive. God bless you. (Ps. Carl [email protected])
