Gods not dead succeeds in only one way. Its gets people - TopicsExpress

Gods not dead succeeds in only one way. Its gets people thinking---in all other ways it fails miserably. This is NOT an Evangelical tool, and the makers of this movie should be brought to task for making something that makes both atheists and theists look so stupid. As a Christian who majored in Philosophy, this was hard to watch! Logical fallacies abound...this makes Christians seem like backwards anti-intellectual, anti-Muslim, and anti-anything we can caricature and attack because nobody better threaten our version of God. Lastly, this movie pits science and religion against one another, an argument we are all tired of explaining is no longer interesting...ala Hamm vs. Nye. If you are going to engage philosophic and theological topics as a Professor... You should probably not make every argument one from authority, and if you are going to prove God is not dead (a phrase that neither the Prof or the Christians in this movie explain the meaning of... Did they even read Nietzsche)?...straw man arguments and arguing from ignorance (both logical fallacies) are a Bad place to start. Rant over..discuss!
