God’s Promise to King David One of the really amazing things in - TopicsExpress

God’s Promise to King David One of the really amazing things in the bible is the way God speaks to someone in that moment in time and it really is an example of a 4th dimensional message to all people throughout all history. (God’s message is outside space-time) Example: I Chronicles Ch. 17 Verses 10b-15 “I declare to you that the Lord will build a house for you: When your days are over and you go to be with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever.” I’m CERTAIN that King David was thrilled to hear this out of the mouth of the prophet, but I am also certain that there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that his own son Solomon didn’t live nor his kingdom last forever….This was where God was speaking of a greater son of David…THE KING OF KINGS! God’s own son, Jesus Christ, would be of the very line of David. And the kingdom of Jesus IS ETERNAL! When God makes us a promise, we see it in such a physical and instant way that we might miss God’s deeper meaning. I have received prophetic words from many proven prophets and at the time I thought it was a specific thing I was getting information on, but most of the time (there are many exceptions to this) we learn hindsight that God was speaking to us about something much bigger and longer-lasting than we thought! I thank God that His ways are far superior and forward thinking than anything I can muster. God doesn’t see you and I as we are at this moment in time, he sees ALL of our potential as well. All that we could ever be capable of and perhaps more! If we lived up to just a small percentage of our potential I suspect we would see a radically different world and world view. Ask God to let you see people and the world through His eyes, you will be both amazed and shocked. One last thing… In that passage, we see God admitting he took his love away from Saul, David’s predecessor! How horrible and frightening! Today we as believers can never experience this loss, because when we accept Christ into our heart, He dwells IN US…This is what is meant by “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” You are merged into a part of Christ’s body and God cannot EVER stop loving you as a result. This is why Christ’s gift of eternal life is simply bonus compared to the ambassadorship we are given as a representative of God’s own son!!!! Simply beyond words. Praise God for all His wonderful gifts!!! ~ike
