Going through my collection of old Dolly magazines before I have to throw them out and I nearly forgot how absolutely ridiculous the Twilight fandom got in such a short time...... MY SISTER THINKS SHES BELLA SWAN: As soon as my sister Abbey, 20, finished reading Eclipse an saw the Twilight movie, she changed. She got hair extensions, lost heaps of weight, changed her make-up and clothes and would only talk about nothing but Twilight. She stopped hanging out with her best friends and only wanted to be around people interested in Twilight. She dumped her boyfriend saying, Im destined to be with a guy named Edward. It started to freak me out. About nine weeks later she lost her job at the local newsagent after the boss realised she wasnt serving customers, but spending her time looking up Twilight online and printing pictures. She converted her room into a shrine, with Twilight quilt covers, towels, candles and posters. I dont like going in there - its too confronting. Shes got three Twilight tattoos - a red robin around her ankle from the Eclipse front cover, an apple on her wrist from the front of Twilight, plus the quote, And so the lion fell in love with the lamb, on her hip. But it wasnt until we started getting letters addressed to Bella Swan from the bank and other organisations that Mum and Dad become concerned. They both work full-time and until then they thought she was just following the trend. Last November, Abbey was charged for stealing a huge cardboard cut-out of New Moon from a cinema. My Mum said she had shamed the family and we ended up moving to start afresh. Shes been seeing a counsellor for the past month and Mum made her change all her account names back to her real name. The counsellor told us what shes going through wasnt necessarily caused by Twilight, that was just the trigger. Our parents have banned us from reading the books or watching the films. They also cut our internet and phones. Theyre trying to protect us, but it makes things difficult. Abbey still yells at me if I dont call her Bella, but shes looking for a new job, so hopefully we can concentrate on living normal lives soon. My obsession goes beyond material possessions - it also includes ranting, screaming and attempting to convert my friends and family into Twilighters. Everything remind me of Twilight... Instead of saving up for a pair of heels like other girls I save up for a set of autographed Twilight novels. I SLEEP ON A JACOB BLACK PILLOWCASE I WANT ROBERT PATTERSON TO BE MY FIRST KISS PEOPLE TELL ME IM TOO OBSESSED He (Robert Pattinson) was meant to be arriving at 8am, so we arrived at 1am - people lost shoes and purses; one girl even broke her nose being pushed against a glass door. Other people were taken away in ambulances because theyd fainted or injured in the crowd. IVE SEEN TWILIGHT 245 TIMES JFC THIS DOESNT GET ANY BETTER HAHAHAHA
