Gold and other precious metals have recently been discovered in large quantities in Eritrea but did you know that Eritrea is also well endowed with potash deposits? The first major potash development, the Colluli mining project, is currently being constructed in the Southern Red Sea Zone. The mine is expected to produce 1 million tons of potash per year bringing in revenues of 500 million dollars per year! Unlike Bisha however the Eritrean National Mining Corporation owns 50% of the company responsible for extraction. #MYTH2014
