Golf in Salome, AZ Desert Palms Golf and RV Resort has a 4 acre 9-hole short course and a full sized driving range that have been previously featured on this Facebook page. A short 5-1/2 miles from the entrance to Desert Palms is the La Paz County sponsored Greasewood Golf Course which is a 9-hole par 32 desert course with green grass tee boxes and greens. Their fees are $9 for 9 holes and they are open 7 days during the winter season. Greasewood features Monday Skins at 10:00, Open golf on Tuesday, Ladies League at 12:00 on Wednesday preceded by a free clinic at 10:00, Shotgun Scramble at 10:00 on Thursday and another Skins at 10:00 Friday. There is open golf all other times. The course is open from 8:00 to 5:00 daily. Another 9-hole practice course that has no grass is available for an additional cost of $2/round. Punch-cards for 12 9-hole rounds are available for $90 and motorized carts are available for $10 for 9 holes. Pictures of their #1 and #2 holes, which are typical of holes on the front nine, are shown below. These pictures were taken from the tee-box looking toward the green at the far end of the picture. It is fairly easy to see the #1 green from the #1 tee-box in the first photo because it is a 155 yard hole. It is harder to see the #2 green in the second photo because #2 is a 251 yard hole. The small green spot in the middle is a grass target where people could land on their first shot and have grass under their club for their second shot. If you are a real pro, this course is not likely to satisfy you, but if you are a senior golfer, this course could be attractive at $9 for a 9-hole round. While the course is busy when planned activities are underway, there is plenty of slack time where you can get on the course without prolonged waits or advanced reservations
