Golly Gee Whiz: A President Who Actually THINKS! :O Watching MSNBC last night, I was struck by their coverage and spot-on assessments of the relentless GOP criticism of President Obama relative to his Foreign Policy and his recent statement about not YET having a strategy to deal with ISIL (or ISIS). First; it is rather telling that - even though politicians (Left and Right) have been quick to seize on that isolated statement and wag their fingers at Obama for not acting - the matter just wasnt THAT pressing, for THEM to cut short their five-week recess in Congress - you know, the branch of government with the responsibility for declaring and/or funding WARS and military action! Indeed,...President Obamas foreign policy steps HAVE BEEN REMARKABLE: for their more cautious, deliberative pragmatism - as compared to the Bush/Cheney years of reactionary military adventurism and an invasion of the wrong country, that cost the U.S. over 4,400 military deaths, 100,000+ Iraqi deaths and a monetary cost of $2 trillion...and counting, destabilizing an entire region in the process! >:( The more cautious, pragmatic approach of the current Administration has - thus far - kept us OUT of further land wars - in Libya, Syria, and Ukraine,...AND, allowed us to end our occupation of Iraq, and begin a draw down toward our leaving Afghanistan - all with minimal death, destruction and monetary cost! Oh,...and his thoughtful leadership also brought about the deaths of Osama Bin Laden and a host of other terrorist leaders, responsible for 9/11 and other attacks! One commentator said: in the GOP political lexicon: Dithering - a word they invoke (gleefully) to mock the President - equates to: Thinking. How utterly refreshing! We here THANK YOU for that, Mr. President! ;)
