Good Afternoon All, I am looking for 4 more families to form a small 6 family homeschool co-op. I myself am a former intermediate school teacher (5-8th grades). My expertise is in Language Arts. I have three children, ages 10, soon to be 13, and 16. Our family has homeschooled on and off since 2007. This will be the first time we are homeschooling all three at the same time. I am looking to set up a small co-op to start in August. Co-op meaning that we all bring our expertise/ hobby and passion to teach the co-op children, through lecture and activities. The kids need to be 5th through 12th grade as of August 1, 2014. The parents should understand that it is not a drop off and they will be expected to stay in the building. This co-op will be not be religious or rank based, nor will a difference be made of military or civilian status. The co-op will be diverse in its nature and anyone involved will be expected to be tolerant and willing to embrace any and all participants. The co-op will meet bi-weekly. The co-op can be academic, enrichment and or activity and field trip based. This will be planned with the chosen participants. The time frame is August 2014 to May 2015. I am asking for 3-5 planning meetings to insure that we are up and running for August. So far we have Language Arts and Fine Arts covered. Please send me a PM with your family make up, kids ages, your expertise or hobby that you are passionate about and ability to commit to the time frame for consideration. You dont have to be certified, degreed or an expert on levels. You have to be willing, knowledgeable and patient. Well all be there to help each other. If you are energetic and know about physical fitness, you could do a sort of P.E. If you scrapbook you could do lap books at co-op. If you bake, maybe you could do a nutrition/ cooking class. ETC... I will close out the application period on April 30th. Hopefully will have a working team by then. In the event that we dont, I will repost with the current available spots to be filled.
