Much the same for tomorrow although, not a good chance, but heres hoping some shower activity comes our way. Currently its 23.3C and the humidity is at 64%........... Below is your forecast for tomorrow..................... ____________________________________________________ This is the Official Forecast for Wednesday 6th of August 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. ______________________________________________________ Wind Warnings for Wednesday 6 August Strong Wind Warning for the following areas: North East Gulf of Carpentaria, Torres Strait, Peninsula Coast, Cooktown Coast, Cairns Coast, Townsville Coast and Mackay Coast Weather Situation A strong high pressure system over southern Australia will maintain a firm ridge along much of the east Queensland coast during the forecast period. A trough extends through western Queensland, with a relatively moist and unstable airmass extending through districts to its east. The trough is expected to weaken as it shifts west towards the Northern Territory during the remainder of today and Wednesday. A dry airmass will then extend through the interior of the state in the wake of the trough. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland, more frequent along the Cassowary Coast. Isolated to scattered showers in the west with possible isolated storms, contracting further west during this evening. Isolated showers over the tropical and central interior. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Fresh and gusty southeasterly winds along the east coast, strong at times north of Mackay. Moderate to fresh and gusty southeast to northeasterly winds elsewhere. Wednesday 6 August Isolated showers in the northwest, contracting further west into the Northern Territory during the day. Isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland, mostly north of Fraser Island and more frequent near the Cassowary Coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. A cool morning with early frosts about the southeastern interior and Maranoa. Light to moderate southeasterly winds over southern districts. Moderate to fresh and gusty east to southeasterly winds elsewhere, strong at times near the east tropical coast. Thursday 7 August The high should move east over southeastern Australia, maintaining a firm ridge and isolated to scattered showers about the central and north tropical Queensland coasts. Showers should clear the Fraser coast during the morning. A dry airmass will extend into remaining parts of the state, with fine and mostly sunny conditions expected and early frosts over the southern and southeastern interior. Friday 8 August The high is expected to shift further east into the Tasman Sea, maintaining a firm ridge and isolated showers about the central and north tropical coasts. Winds will also tend more onshore along the southern coast with possible isolated showers developing. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected over remaining parts of the state, with the clear skies leading to a cold morning and early frosts through the central, southern and southeast inland. Saturday 9 August The high will shift slowly east through the Tasman Sea, maintaining a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast. Moisture will increase over southeast districts and the Capricornia with isolated showers about the coast extending west to inland parts during the day. Possible isolated showers will occur in the fresh onshore wind flow along the remaining east coast, particularly about the north tropical coast.
