RNSW Stewards Invoke Hot Weather Policy For Walgett (Sat) Please note with temperatures of 44°C predicted in the seven-day weather forecast for the Walgett region on Saturday (22nd November), Walgett Jockey Club, after conferring with Chief Steward Todd Smith, will bring forward the commencement time for the race meeting in order to avoid racing in the hottest part of the afternoon. In addition, Mr Smith advises that Racing NSW Stewards have already invoked Level 2 protocols in the Racing NSW Racing in Hot Weather Policy for this meeting, including varying the time horses are required on course (AR46) to one hour prior to the relevant race. However, participants and patrons should check the Racing NSW website on the afternoon of Friday, 21st November 2014 as Stewards and Walgett Jockey Club will then review the decision to proceed with Saturdays non-TAB meeting, giving due regard to horse and rider health and welfare considerations.
