Good Afternoon Team Nathan.. Life is truly amazing in so many ways! Let me tell you a little about how life and how we choose to live our lives makes a difference in so many ways. I am going to write a book here, just kidding but this will be a long post so stick with me here. 6 years ago we moved to Florida, Dan Schell was wrestling here and there to make extra money.He wrestled for a man named Howard (Dontay Brown), sometimes for a small amount just to help out the show. 4 years later Nathan was diagnosed with brain cancer. Howard was one of the first people at our door to help us find a way to raise money towards Nate’s medical bills. He brought Steve Chamberland and Jessie Sorensen with him to help build up Nate’s spirit and because this is just what these guys do, HELP others ! Now on the other side of the coin we have a really sweet couple who just love Nate and he is always helping them and they are just like grandpa and grandma in Florida. They are always telling me what a good sweet loving young man he is so respectful and loving. Well 2 months ago Jorge had to have his leg amputated and has been recouping at the VA. He was not allowed to come home because his house did not meet handicap safety standards and the VA was going to put Jorge in a nursing home for a few month while they finished the work. Here is the sad part due to all the paper work the contractors working for the VA said it could be as long as 4 month before Jorge could come home. Jorge was so depressed and not eating and his wife Awilda was so sad and they just didn’t know what to do. So I reached out to Steve and asked if he could point me in the direction to help this wonderful couple. Within 10 min Steve called me back and had the ball rolling and help coming from every angle. For the past 48 hours different volunteers have showed up to build, paint, and do everything needed to get Jorge home so he didn’t have to go into the nursing home. As I type this letter to you now Jorge is being discharged and will be able to come home today, sleep in his own bed and heal. Thanks to Steve Chamberland and all the wonderful volunteers. This is all because the love and doing unto others as you have had done unto you.Dan being good to Howard, Howard reaching out to Steve for Nate, Jorge and Awilda loving Nate, Nate expressing to me the love he feels for our neighbors and needing help, me reaching out to Steve and the love and support Steve has from the community all the businesses who believe in what Steve for what he does for so many people.The ironic thing is Steve’s organization is 50 legs and he mostly just helps amputees get limbs. But in this case Steve Chamberland paid for the project out of his pocket to help a young man (Nate) give back and pay it forward. I think Nate will eventually be on Steve’s payroll because he made a great helper. And this has showed Nate how truly wonderful the world and good people are. Thank you again Steve, John and everyone else who has supported this special project with money and or time.. This has been great experience for our Family and as you enjoy your nice long weekend with your families I would ask that all of you find 1 way this weekend to pay it forward and give back and also to say a special prayer to GOD thanking him for all the wonderful things in your life..
