Good Bye to Meth Poem Don’t be sad, and don’t you cry, but it’s time to say good-bye. To all the laughter and the fun, together we shared when we were spun. You took away my pain and made me conceited, you were the only one that made me feel needed. You had me at my first kiss of death, before I knew it your name was crystal meth. I use to say spinner for diner, but that wasn’t enough, I needed a line to make me feel tough. I wanted to get higher I thought to myself, I picked up a needle and threw a shard on a spoon, before I knew it I shot for the moon. Sailing and flailing away we go, in only one month I started losing control. Stabbing and jabbing to find a vein, Just to cover up my real pain. Crying and dying, lying on the floor. You didn’t even care, so I wanted you more. You beat me up, And all I did was hide, From my family and friends, and put my daughter aside, I got caught with a ball in my right pocket, That day I was flailing like a rocket. Getting handcuffed and thrown in the back seat of the cop car, Is when I knew I’ve gone too far. Sitting in jail thinking about you, how am I supposed to tell you we got to be through. I was put on probation, but that’s not all I had to go to treatment, over a ball. You said you were my friend, But you took me down, straight to depression almost into the ground. I’m starting my new life, It’s about to be long, GOD help me do this and stay strong. I’m not going any further you see, from this very moment you are dead to me. by Shawna loge this is the first poem I wrote in treatment and really the only poem I ever wrote. just thought I would share with everyone. hope you all like it
