Good Day Autonomous Region of Bougainville. Many great things - TopicsExpress

Good Day Autonomous Region of Bougainville. Many great things had happened this year in our Region unlike previous years, politically, economically and socially. From the Prime Minister’s “GOOD WILL VISIT” to our Region which had our AROPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT upgraded and near completion, hopefully to be reopened next month, then we have the ARAWA POST OFFICE, BSP BANK and PNG WATER BOARD back on the ground. The RENDER SAFE OPERATION to remove WORLD WAR II remains at Torokina also sparks abit of commotion among our people. Then we have Bougainville’s new Passenger Vessel M.V CEBU which was welcomed yesterday to our shores, a relief to many of our people, especially students and business houses who had to dig deeper into their pockets for high airfares. The list goes on, many major projects are yet to be completed, like the sealing of the BUKA RING ROAD and the upgrading of Buka- Arawa Highway. In politics, we had the new TRANSITIONAL BOUGAINVILLE MINING LAW, passed by our Autonomous Government, which had many Bougainvilleans speaking against it on different interpretations. Then we have the MEEKAMUI and ABG coming together, and finally Meekamui raising their hands to contest the upcoming ABG Election. A relief to Bougainville after a long standoff. Socially we had our Black Orchid finally winning the BLACK ORCHID RUGBY 7 Tournament after 10 years of hard work and our STRONG BOUGAINVILLE TEAM going off too PNG GAMES on high note as our ambassadors. We wish them all the best. Unfortunately, Bougainville had its own many misfortunes, govt services not reaching many people, disgruntle landowners, reconciliations not going out well (etc). These however, will not deter us from moving forward. Also this year Bougainville lost one of its greatest leaders of all time, Late DR. ALEXIS SAREI,not forgetting many Bougainvilleans who have lost their lives too, to long illness and human errors. May they Rest in Peace. Again a great day to all throughout the Region, PNG and our overseas friends…as we move forward, let us stand together, united and face the future.ONE BOUGAINVILLE-ONE PEOPLE. THANKYOU ALL.
