Good Day! Christmas Eve... late last night I was writing and thanking God and cleansing my mind. It was refreshing.... So I leave you with this from a little of my writing on last night about 2am after I was packing up a few things....... After accepting the BEST gift, your salvation through our Christ Jesus, my Christmas gift to you this year, are a list of gifts I believe you should give yourself: 1. Forgive yourself! The fact that youre still alive means God can redeem and recompense you for ALL loss time (Joel 2) 2. Release who wounded you. Its a law of physics that two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time. God is trying to get more JOY to you but unforgiveness is in the way. 3. Pray more. Prayer is not just talking but listening. Make your requests, (Philippians 4:16) then sit in silence with a journal or your ipad and write what comes to you. 4. Assign purpose to pain. Life hurts us all. The Bible says MANY are the afflictions of the righteous and mans days are FULL of trouble, but ALL things work together for the good of the ones who love the Lord, Romans 8:28. Acknowledge your pain then ask what can I do from here: seek counseling to see how to defeat the cycle so it does not repeat itself in a different disguise, volunteer to help others who have similarly been impacted, etc. Remember, pain does not have to have the last say. 5. Rethink what you believe. Just because youve believed something for years does not make it true. Youre not bad because youve made mistakes. You made a mistake. The mistake didnt make you. Your life is not over because that happened. DAILY God gives us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves and become better than the day before. Perfect people are NOT blessed because perfect people dont exist. EVERYONE you can lay your eyes on has had to rebound and recover from something. Dont let them fool you! God assigns trials better known as lessons to everyone. 6. Stop comparing yourself to others. You will miss what God has for you, looking at what He has for someone else. Staying in YOUR lane and focusing on YOUR path is much like driving, it will help keep you from accidents. 7. Remember the lessons, but forget the mistakes. Apostle Paul said, there is one thing I do: forget the things behind me. Trust God Blessing, Min. LaTonya Laws (MIT)
