Good Day Fellow Rotarians, As you all should be aware, - TopicsExpress

Good Day Fellow Rotarians, As you all should be aware, membership is of prime focus and importance in our wonderful organisation, Rotary. Those of you who attended the recent District Training Assemblies in Grahamstown, Bloemfontein and Durban will surely attest to the issue of membership being high on the District 9370 agenda. Membership in the District currently is as follows: As at 7 September 1013: 2049 This is down 16 members from the 2065 reported at the District Assembly in Durban on 17 August. This however is mostly due to the corrective action in terms of clubs correcting their membership numbers on the District website. There have been many with incorrect date in terms of numbers, and we are finally rectifying this. Our Membership Goal for this year ending on 30 June 2014 is as follows: A nett gain of 150 members, between our 100 clubs, based on the figure of 2065. Therefore the goal is to have 2215 members by 30 June 2014. This figure is for normal club growth and EXCLUDES any new members signed on through the efforts of the Lionel Wybrow”s Club Extension Committee. Liones’s target is FOUR new clubs with a total of 80 new members. So, fellow Rotarians, I ask you, “what have you done to recruit new members and increase the membership numbers in you club”? Have you, identified a possible recruit? Have you invited a potential new Rotarian to one of your club meetings. If so, have you sealed the deal and brought the new recruit into your “Family of Rotary”. Rotarians, this battle to increase membership rests with each and everyone of you, and I ask you all to do your bit to help us in District 9370 to win this battle. And lastly, remember the Rotary International Membership Challenge: BE ONE GET ONE KEEP ONE In summary, to do this we must: BE - Ethical - involved & engaged - action orientated - an ambassador - a supporter of Foundation and District programmes - proud to wear your Rotary badge - active in your Club and District - an example of the 4 way test - promote WoM marketing We must GET - a friend - a Colleague - a spouse - a family member - a missing vocation - just ASK We must KEEP - all existing members - members interested - members informed - members active - telling people about your projects - rewarding members’ achievements We WILL succeed if we rise to this challenge. Good luck to all of you, and District knows that we can rely on all of your support. Please revert to the Membership Committee with any queries or with anything we can do to assist you in achieving our goal. Best regards, Gavin Jepson Chairman District 9370 Membership Committee
