Good Day! Letting kindness and understanding, in all good common - TopicsExpress

Good Day! Letting kindness and understanding, in all good common sense, rule the day, makes our “ora et labora” very effective. Keep them up and God bless you! F. Philip, OSB That the kingdom of Christ is not one of revenge in any sense of the word, is evident in the rebuke he gave to James and John for asking if He wanted them to call down fire from heaven to consume the Samaritan village, which would not welcome Him, because His destination was Jerusalem. Some of us, also, at times, experience this rejection because our destination is the heavenly Jerusalem. In many respects, the best way to meet those who reject us is by kindness and charity, and not by retaliation, in all good common sense. So we show that the sincere following of Christ is not always a bed of roses. It entails being faithful to Christ, by taking up our cross on the road to Jerusalem and being faithful to our calling in the presence of God. The strength to do this is found in the Eucharist. As Pope Benedict told us in his apostolic exhortation on the Eucharist: Sacramentum Caritatis, “the Sacrament of charity, the Holy Eucharist is the gift that Jesus Christ makes of himself, thus revealing to us God’s infinite love for every man and woman.”
